Cosme Castellón Mendoza grew up in the coffee farming world. His grandfather bought the property decades ago when the land was cheap and created a community with his neighbors. As this land was passed on to Cosme’s father, he began to plant and harvest coffee in the 1980s. Cosme and his brothers would go to school in the mornings and work on the farm in the afternoons.
When Cosme’s father passed away in 2003, he and his brothers began to work on the farms full time, which is when his love of coffee fully bloomed. Since then, he has been a full time coffee producer.
In 2014, Cosme’s brother Leonicio began working in the world of specialty coffee. Cosme started working with him on the farm and wet mill and learned all he could about specialty coffee production. In 2017 he decided to plant coffee on the highest part of his property with good quality varietals. In2019, he started preparing his first micro-lot.
We are excited to share this coffee with you and to support Cosme!
