The Story in Every Cup

Nestled at 1,580 meters above sea level in the mountains of Huehuetenango, Guatemala, El Arroyón is a 2.68-hectare farm run by second-generation producer Arelis Nohelia Funes Mérida and her husband. Purchased 15 years ago in Los Regadillos, Unión Cantinil, the farm is named after the natural stream flowing alongside it—a vital spring that supplies clean water to the family, their neighbors, and their coffee processing. From harvest to drying, every step takes place at the farm’s own wet mill, reflecting a deep commitment to quality, community, and generational tradition.

Process: Washed. Selectively harvested cherries are mechanically depulped, fermented in concrete tanks, traditionally washed, and dried on covered concrete patios for one week to create a pristine, balanced profile.
Variety: A curated high-altitude blend of Pache, Marsellesa, Catimor, and Catuai, bringing refined structure, lively sweetness, and bright fruit character to the cup.

Meet the Artist: Nacho Vitrada

The artwork adorning this bag was created by Nacho Vitrada, a Guatemalan illustrator and graphic designer whose work is a vibrant celebration of Latin American culture. Blending digital techniques with acrylics, crayons, and watercolors, Nacho draws inspiration from local customs, traditions, and nostalgic pop culture to create art that evokes warm childhood memories and honors Guatemalan pride.
