In our continuing effort to bring light to small producers, Broadcast purchased this coffee with the help from Benjamin Paz, Relationship Manager at the mill, Beneficio San Vicente, in the Santa Barbara region of Honduras. Broadcast has been purchasing coffee from the BSV mill for several years now. What makes this year different is that we were able to work closely with Benjamin and our importer partner, Atlas, on identifying two small producers for us to start a buying relationship with.
Isaac Lopez became a first generation coffee producer in 2015 after he and his wife inherited land outside the village of El Ocotillo. 2025 marks their seventh year selling their own coffee.
At the El Sile farm, cherries are de-pulped every other day, then the parchment is put into fermentation tanks where it is dry fermented for 15 hours. After, the parchment is rinsed with water four times in a tank. Next, it is put inside a parabolic solar dryer for around 10- 15 days; during dyring, the parchment is sorted by hand to remove defective beans.
Roaster: Broadcast Coffee in Seattle Washington.
